You see them gracing the covers of magazines, in stories about
the City of Aurora, in tourism material, on web sites touting
the advantages of living in Aurora, even in economic reports and
presentations. They have come to symbolize the progressive place
Colorado's third largest city is perceived to be. They contribute
enormously to improving the image and identity of Aurora, advancing
and enhancing our visual environment. It is
a highly popular program that shows Aurorans and visitors alike
that this city understands that the arts are important to building
strong communities and bringing diverse population together. From
its inception 10 years ago, it has brought more than 500 business
owners and residents together to select and help create a $1.6
million cultural heritage we can all be proud of. For the value
it has added to our communities image, The Aurora Chamber is proud
to name the Arts in Public Places program this
year's winner of the Business for the Arts award.
