Aurora - Cruise Boat of the Rockies
We are pleased to welcome you to Aurora, Colorado. We are
unashamed to say Aurora offers big city living with a distinctly
small town feel. Nestled just east of Denver, Aurora is about
as well situated as a place can be - especially for lovers
of the great outdoors. Just reserve yourself a suite at one
of the 62 great hotels that partner with the Aurora Chamber
of Commerce, settle yourself and your belongings into your
room, and visualize yourself on the "Cruise Boat of the Rockies".
Everyday you can be at a new "island," yet still be able to
return for dining and entertainment at night.
Within an easy drive of an hour or two, you can choose from
the magnificent Colorado Rockies, rivers, lakes, dunes, vast
high plains grasslands, deserts or streams for a variety of
recreational options. No kidding - the options are that vast.
And there's a lot more.
If you aren't into driving to play, you can simply walk or
bike to an incredible variety of fun activities right here
in Aurora. You can choose from outdoor concerts, fishing at
great reservoirs, hiking or biking along delightful urban
trails, an alpine slide, in-line skating at our new skate
park or along the Highline Canal, or buying locally grown
produce at the farmers' market.

town (University of Colorado's medical campus and the Community
College of Aurora) with big-city cultural and recreational
amenities.
City parks and open space cover over 6,000 acres of Aurora
giving visitors ample room to stretch their muscles and soak
up over 300 days of the Colorado sun. And our high plains
climate means Aurora's seven award winning, championship municipal
courses and four private courses offer golfers year round
opportunity.
If shopping is more your speed, try our Town Center of Aurora
sporting a bright new look following a $100 million renovation.
There is also our spanking new 1.8 million square foot Southlands
Mall, and the vintage Buckingham Mall that will bring back
memories of days gone by. You might also want to visit our
Historic Downtown Aurora. Any direction you go you'll find
shopping and dining opportunities with quaint shops and restaurants
to suit almost any taste. Aurora is a regional hub for all
your shopping and health care needs.
Speaking of health care needs, Aurora is home to the two
campuses of The Medical Center of Aurora, University of Colorado
Hospital, and the University of Colorado Health Science Center.
Under construction and due to open shortly are The Children's
Hospital, a new Veterans Administration Hospital and new schools
of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Psychology and Pharmacy—
all making Aurora not only a University city but national
center for medical excellence.
A tremendous variety of day trip opportunities are available
within minutes of your “Cruise Boat of the Rockies.”
You can find performances of every type. In Aurora, the intimate
Fox Arts Center stages unique plays. More in the Broadway mood?
The Denver Center for the Performing Arts is the home of off-Broadway
plays, a world-class Symphony Orchestra as well as dance and
opera companies. Concerts of all sorts can be found at landmarks
like the funky Bluebird Theater to the renowned Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Sports fanatics find we have it all from the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and Colorado Rapids to the Colorado Crush (arena football) and home-grown Aurora Cavalry (minor league basketball).
