The Women in Business committee traveled to the Movie Tavern-Aurora for a presentation from John Gies discussing communication for the bottom line, how communication impacts human and financial performance.
Gies shared that American businesses lose billions of dollars every year due to poor communication. Trust, in any relationship, has an impact on effective communication; eye contact, posture, listening, consistency, and voice tone are all behaviors of trust that can increase your working relationships. It does not take an extensive amount of time to connect with another person. He cautioned that we all need to be aware of the impact we have to light people up or bring them down.
The Movie Tavern hosted the group in a private theater room and provided three salad options for lunch.
