On May 9, 2025, the Aurora Chamber of Commerce proudly hosted the 49th Annual Armed Forces Recognition Luncheon, honoring outstanding enlisted service members from across all branches stationed in the Greater Buckley Region.
Held at the DoubleTree Hotel Denver, the event brought together military leaders, community partners, elected officials, and supporters to celebrate the professionalism, volunteerism, and impact of our service members—both in uniform and in their communities.
Keynote speaker CMSgt Lisa Perry, Command Senior Enlisted Leader for the Colorado National Guard, shared a powerful message on mentorship and leadership. In recognition of her service, she was presented with a symbolic “leadership plant” propagated from the ivy that has grown in the White House since 1961.
This year’s honorees received a commemorative brick, with a matching engraved paver to be placed at the upcoming Colorado Freedom Memorial Visitor and Education Center—a lasting tribute to their service.
The event also recognized Tom Grayson with the Bob Cardenas Award and celebrated the Greater Buckley Region being named a 2025 Great American Defense Community.
It was a day of heartfelt recognition, community pride, and enduring gratitude.
