Leadership Aurora
What is Leadership Aurora?
It’s a 10-month community engagement program designed to develop an awareness of the Aurora community, create a network of informed leaders, and encourage greater involvement in the community. The program begins with a mandatory two-night retreat in mid-September and culminates with a graduation program in early June.
What will I learn?
Each month’s topic is presented through the insights of prominent individuals from the public and private sectors, in-depth dialogue of current issues pertinent to the session topic, case studies, site visits, and interactive and “hands-on” experience. Participants also work in teams or as a group on projects of their own design to provide tangible solutions to various contemporary community challenges. The community actually becomes the classroom.
What is the Commitment?
Two-night mandatory opening retreat – September 12-14, 2024
One full weekday session per month (October-May) – third Thursday of each month
Graduation Program – full-day session plus dinner, June 5, 2025
Class Project and community experiences required independent of monthly class sessions
How do I apply and how much is it?
Applications are Closed for the 2024-2025 Leadership Aurora Class.

A limited number of partial scholarships are available to those not able to pay the full tuition. Scholarships are awarded based on need and class composition.
