Aurora Chamber of Commerce

From the President

We are pleased to welcome you to Aurora, Colorado. Nestled just east of Denver, Aurora is about as well situated as a place can be – for everything you might want – or need – to do.

City parks and open space cover over 6,000 acres of Aurora giving visitors ample room to stretch their muscles and soak up over 300 days of the Colorado sun. And our high plains climate means Aurora’s seven award-winning, championship municipal courses and four private courses offer golfers year round opportunity.

Aurora is also a university and health care city, with the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus, Community College of Aurora, The Medical Center of Aurora, Children’s Hospital Colorado, and a new Veterans Administration Hospital — all making Aurora a national center for medical excellence.

For the outdoor enthusiast, you’re a short drive to the magnificent Colorado Rockies, and to rivers, lakes, vast high plains grasslands, and deserts or streams for a variety of recreational options.

If you aren’t into driving to play, you can simply walk or bike to an incredible variety of fun activities right here in Aurora. You can choose from outdoor concerts, fishing, hiking or biking along delightful urban trails, an alpine slide, in-line skating at our new skate park or along the Highline Canal, or buying locally grown produce at the farmers’ market.

If shopping is more your speed, there are multiple options, including Town Center at Aurora, Southlands Mall, and The Gardens on Havana – to name just a few. You might also want to visit historic Downtown Aurora, which includes the Aurora Cultural Arts District.

A tremendous variety of day trip opportunities are available for your entertainment. In Aurora, the intimate Aurora Fox Arts Center stages unique plays, or you can take musical pleasure from the Aurora Symphony Orchestra or the Aurora Singers. A few miles west in Denver, you can find additional entertainment at The Denver Center for the Performing Arts featuring theatre and music, as well as dance and opera companies. Concerts of all musical types can be found at landmarks like the funky Bluebird Theater or the world-renowned Red Rocks Amphitheater in Golden, CO.

For sports fanatics we have it all, including the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche and the Colorado Rapids.

Come visit us, stop in for a day just to get away, or stay longer at one of Aurora’s many accommodations for every taste and budget. Aurora, Colorado – it’s all within your reach.

Sincerely,

Naomi Colwell
