Singing and Dancing! – Business for the Arts / Feb. 7, 2017

Kim Robards of Kim Robards Dance (KRD) got the group moving at the Feb. 7 Business for the Arts meeting, with a creative warm up based on “morning activities,” such as fluffing the comforter and walking the dog. Even pushing the button on the coffee pot can be exaggerated to become an effective stretching warm up move! See the warmup!

KRD is a professional modern dance touring company in the Aurora Arts District, offering classes for all ages, as well as professional dance performances. KRD also utilizes dance as a tool to educated communities about modern dance; to teach social skills such as cooperative learning and problem-solving; and to build self-confidence self-esteem, reaching out to special populations including incarcerated teens, children with physical disabilities, women recovering from breast cancer, homeless, and geographically isolated and financially restricted communities.

Up With People representatives shared the vision and mission of the organization; to bridge cultural barriers and create global understanding through service and music.

Up With People is in Aurora for a week, Feb. 27 to March 6, with a performance at Rangeview High School on March 2. The cast will be involved in a variety of community projects during their week stay.
