Singing in the holiday season – with wreaths, too! – Business for the Arts / Dec. 6, 2016

The early morning performances of the Rangeview Rhapsody and The Aurora Singers at the Business for the Arts Holiday Gathering on Dec. 6 was a musical delight! James Laguana, musical director for both groups, artfully led all the singers in their repertoire of holiday songs – from Silent Night to Mr. Grinch. The annual holiday gathering has been traditionally held at the Aurora History Museum, to coincide with the (also) annual Festival of Wreaths – for which bidding is all online this year.

The meeting also served as a “changing of the guard,” as Ed Duggan owner of Music Go Round Aurora, stepped down as chair of the Business for the Arts committee after serving since 2010. Duggan will remain involved, but “will be able to sit back and enjoy the meetings and events, now.” A sincere thanks to Duggan for his leadership, calm demeanor, and unwavering attendance at the Summer Concert Series.

Brian Molitoris, of Brian Molitoris Photographer, who has served as vice chair, will be the new chair of the committee, and Renee Leon, co-owner of AutoPros, will serve as vice-chair.

The next meeting of the Business for the Arts committee is January 3, 2017, at which Kaiser Permanente’s Educational Theatre will present “Laughaceuticals.” A must see!
